MARS LUNA Biography

His Earth name is Joshua Luna, but he now goes by the name “Mars Luna”, and he’s also known as the “Cosmic Prince” to all of the martians that dwell in the cosmos. Mars was sent to Earth from the Milky Way and he was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.

As a young earthling, Mars had speech problems and while he was learning how to talk, he learned how to sing and that came naturally to him. Music was an escape route from the troubled times he had in school and it became his primary form of communication. When he was younger, Mars was bullied and cast aside from his peers and felt like he didn’t fit in with them. Over time, through music and singing, he was able to open up and was accepted by his peers. While he was in Hawaii, he created a band in high school called Acoustic Sunrise. He participated in a multitude of talent competitions, sang for local news stations and radio stations until he teleported to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014.

When he first teleported to Las Vegas, he was in search of something different and solely performed music at church. But one of his close friends and supporters of his music passed away in May 2016 and that invigorated a fire in him to take his music much more seriously than he did in the past. That led him to release his first EP “Genesis (Side A)” on iTunes and Spotify on September 28, 2016. Since the release of his first EP, Mars gradually thrust himself into the local Vegas scene hoping to build his career from the ground up. So far, Mars has performed in events and venues such as the Downtown Podcast (now Vegas Talk), Sticks & Stones, Human Experience, Kaffe Live, Illumilatte, First Friday, the inaugural Springfest LV at Boca Park, Vegas Live Sessions at Artifice, The Artisan Hotel, Sambalatte and Vegenation.

Mars’ aim through his music is to be a “light in the darkness” and he hopes that his music will bring inspiration and joy to people’s lives. He recently released his second EP “True Colors (Side B)” on April 17, 2017. In 2018, he released his latest singles Selfish and Good Girl. He is currently working on his first full length album and it is set for release in 2019.
