Headwaters

Headwaters is an electronic music collobration consists of two individuals, Engin Ozbatir and Onur Okutan, who live every single minute of their life with music.

In 2010, Engin, whose interest in electronic music has dramatically increased by means of the decisive influence of numerous local and foreign musicians that he has listened at “1888-Nightclub” in Izmir, has started his career at the relevant club as Resident DJ.

After proving himself at “1888-Nightclub”, not only did he take the stage on several events in Izmir but also shared the stage with the Dj’s such as Ame, Nu, Noir at several clubs in Istanbul and Izmir.

Onur has started his perfoming career via playing electro guitar at his early ages and carried on his passion by composing his own songs.
Throughout his bachelor degree he had the chance to improve his competency on playing numerous instruments including but not limited to piano, violoncello and trumpet.

In recent years, as he has moved his productivity to electronic music, by the inspiration drawn from the infinity of the sounds used during production process, he decided to have his master degree on sound engineering.

Via a rapid step to DJ career, he had the opportunity to share the stage with Christian Löffler, Djuma Soundsystem ve David Mayer.

Onur met Engin in 2016 via sending his song and their passion for techno music had brought them together so that they started to produce together under the name of Headwaters.

Consequently, Headwaters has existed via combination of music knowledge and instrument skills of Onur and wide electronic music experience of Engin. They have been blending their melodic musical infrastructure with techno music.
