JB Bones Biography
JB Bones is a semi acoustic duo based out of Orange/ Sullivan County NY.
Playing together since 2009, as members of the six piece psychobilly band BrokeDown and Busted, Bones branched off to play some off- beat folk -type music at smaller venues.
JB Bones is Howie Bloom on guitar and J Harrison (aka) Blue Jay Shake, bass and vocals.
Playing an eclectic mix of Americana, Cosmic Country, Acoustic/ Electric Blues, and Roots Music JB Bones is an Art 4 art’s sake act in the vein of Steve Earl, John Haitt, Hot Tuna, Hank Williams, Lyle Lovett, Dwight Yokem and The Smother Brothers.
Not your live juke box, Bones fans, ( aka Bone heads) once proclaimed that JB Bones possessed the three C's... class, consistency and charisma.
Howie Bloom’s acoustic blues style guitar playing, shows the flashes of his rock and blues roots, and his ability to play lead and rhythm at the same time.
Blue Jay Shake – rhythmic scale bass playing and gravel throated vocals and storytelling ability, has been described as Tom Waits meets Arlo Guthie.
Playing at Various Breweries, eateries and wineries, we are a low volume act that would be ideal for any venue.
