The Chroma Divide Biography

The Chroma Divide started as a trio composed of high school buddies Nick Gibson, Bryan Scercy, and Cameron "Box" Bryant in early 2017. Nick Gibson took over the vocals and lead guitar, Box took over the bass and Bryan took over the drums. As the trio wrote songs and experimented with sounds and different styles of music they soon realized they needed an extra guitar player to deliver the sound they wanted. The group decided to invite a close friend of theirs to fill in as the secondary guitar but after a rehearsal or two they decided that he wasn't a good fit and decided to continue the search. After giving it some thought, the band decided to invite another friend to become part of the line-up. This time they decided to invite fellow high school friend Jaime "LJ" Esquivel. Nick contacted Jaime one afternoon and asked him to come over for a rehearsal and play a few tunes to feel the songs out. At this point, Box moved to lead guitar and Nick moved to rhythm guitar and vocals and the occasional synth. After listening to the band Jaime agreed to join The Chroma Divide and began to apply his own techniques and bass lines to the songs.

At present, the band has recorded two yet-to-be-released singles that will be included as part of their "Amaranthine" EP. The band looks forward to bringing their music to the masses and is currently focusing on expanding in Charlotte and all of NC.
