Carla J. Easton Biography
Carla J. Easton is a singer-songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. Carla has released one album with all-girl band TeenCanteen and one album solo (as ‘Ette') to widespread critical acclaim and has played numerous festivals in the UK, Europe and North America.
Carla J. Easton burst onto the Scottish Music Scene with the eagerly awaited release of debut single 'ATTACK OF THE GLAM SOUL CHEERLEADERS (PARTS 1 & 2)' in the Summer of 2016. Quickly followed by the critically acclaimed full length studio album 'Homemade Lemonade' (under the alias ETTE), Easton roller-bladed her way to the fore of the pop-pack.
2016 also saw the release of 'Say It All With A Kiss' by TEENCANTEEN (all girl-band founded by Easton), Longlisted for SCOTTISH ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2017.
Both of these records exemplify Easton's passion for polyphonic melodies, stacked harmonies and studio experimentation. With pure polished pop at their core, Easton's songs are melancholic epics packed into 3 minute synth driven mini dramas.
In September 2017, Easton recorded her sophomore solo album with Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen, British Sea Power) at Hotel2Tango, Montreal, Canada. This follows her participation in The Banff Centre for Art and Creativity's inaugural Singer Songwriter Residency in March 2017.
