About this concert
KID Presents: \nWorthy/ San Francisco/Dirtybird\nhttps://soundcloud.com/worthy\nSupport from John Larner, Nick Samaro, Mass appeal and Cadillac G.\nWhen it comes down to all the hype, his name says it all. He is Worthy. With an in-depth knowledge of production, mixing, and performance, Worthy has the insight to play for his audience, cultivating intense positive energy on the dance floor. From salty aired islands to dark club basements, over the past 10 years, Worthy has paid reverence to the traditional form of classic house while tripping off the mark and sinking into the euphoric less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. As Carl Cox said, "The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best, and for me this is the new wave in house music." He establishes an energetic dance floor camaraderie that makes even the most skeptic hater’s booty shake.\n \nGrowing up in Washington DC, Worthy was inspired by the early American rave scene. Upon moving to New York in the late 90’s, he was exposed to artists like LTJ Bukem and Stacey Pullen whose music inspired him to play records across multiple genres, from techno and breaks to hiphop and drum n’ bass. In 2001 he swapped coastlines, moving to San Francisco to pursue his music career.  There he teamed up with Claude Von Stroke and Justin and Christian Martin, becoming one of the four founding fathers of the Dirtybird party, Worthy’s breakout track, Irst Te, released on the Dirtybird label in 2007, quickly established his notoriety as a producer. With other bangers like Shy Look, Tric Trac  (co-produced with Eats Everything) and the recently release track, Dip, Worthy has been rocking the “Dirtybird” sound for nearly a decade now.\n \nConcurrently, Worthy has established his own label, Anabatic Records, which has allowed him to be a bit more experimental with his production, and expand his reach as an artist. Some of the songs that have charted on sites such as Beatport include Concubia, Work The Walls, and Flashin. In 2014 Worthy released his debut full-length album, Disbehave, a genre-defying rebellion against the house producers status quo. Breaking down rules and boundaries, Worthy has sought to set himself apart from the mundane world of expectation, striking out to release something unexpected. Disbehave was accepted with critical acclaim and received notable press attention. \n \nEarly Spring 2015, Worthy will release a two part remix album of Disbehave with artists including Thugfucker, Stanton Warriors, Yolanda be Cool, Matt Tolfrey, and a slough of other amazing producers. He is also back with another Dirtybird release called "So Delicious", among other tracks that will be due out later this year.

DayTrip puts on a great show, and I love when they have a few vendors on the side! Four surprise guests showed up to this party and it was even better than expected. Just wish there was more shaded seating or misters during these hot LA summers!

Mz Worthy Biography

No one knows how to push the boundaries of House music quite like Mz Worthy. With a deeply intuitive understanding of production, she’s shown reverence to the traditional form of classic House even while tripping off the mark & sinking into euphoric, less-charted territories of booty-clapping bass. Attaching “Mz” to her name, Mz Worthy marks the new era of her career. With a new relationship to DJing, she connects with her music and her audience like never before.

Despite over two decades in the scene, she continuously felt disconnected from the world and her fans. After years of repressing feelings of gender dysphoria, Mz Worthy came out as transgender in 2020. Describing the discovery as pieces of a puzzle coming together, Mz Worthy has invited her fans to join her on her journey in finding herself. Feeling a sense of freedom like never before, she has become more expressive in her music and mixing.

Mz Worthy is no stranger to the world of electronic music. Energized by the early American rave scene, she bounced from city to city before finally landing in San Francisco. It was here that she put down roots and established the Dirtybird party alongside Claude VonStroke & Justin & Christian Martin. She released her breakout track “Irst Te” off Dirtybird records back in 2007, followed up by bangers like “Shy Look” (2012), “Tric Trac” with Eats Everything (2011) and “Dip” (2013).

Worthy once again proved her notoriety as a producer with her 2014 debut album, Disbehave. Released off her very own label, Anabatic Records, the critically acclaimed album defies genres and pushes the boundaries of the traditional House sound. She followed the record up with a 2-part remix album, featuring Will Clarke, Walker & Royce, Thugfucker, Stanton Warriors, and Yolanda be Cool among others. She has since released on top labels, such as Defected, Exploited, Insomniac, and Toolroom.

Having played the massive Coachella, Dirtybird Campout, Burning Man, and Ultra festivals, Mz Worthy has the insight to play for her audience every time, cultivating intense positive energy and an energetic dance floor camaraderie. She invites her audience to embrace their true selves, just as she is.

Open to showing and teaching the trans experience, Mz Worthy is a light for other LGBTQ artists. This is only the beginning for her as she reintroduces herself to the scene.
