Lydia Cole Biography
Lydia Cole is a singer/songwriter from New Zealand, now based in Berlin. Inspired to the task of translating emotion into song, Lydia touches hearts by the purity in her voice, intimate lyrics, and flawless live performances.
This ability has enabled Lydia to support acts such as Ed Sheeran, Jose Gonzalez, M. Ward, Diana Krall, Brooke Fraser, and The Paper Kites.
"Lydia has this uncanny ability to touch you deep within your soul. Simple, honest storytelling by an artist who always lays herself bare. Haunting, real, close to the bone." - Rikki Morris
Lydia has been recording, releasing and performing music in New Zealand since 2009, beginning with the Love Will Find A Way EP, followed by her first full-length Me & Moon (2012), and most recently - the generously crowd-funded The Lay of the Land (2017). All these releases were produced by Nic Manders.
Since her 2017 arrival in Europe, Lydia has already connected warmly with audiences in Spain, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, the UK, and the Netherlands.
Lydia writes alone on guitar or piano, though currently performs live as a duo with partner Timothy Armstrong.
Lydia's 2019 single 'The Sacred' was recorded and co-produced with Rene Corbett in Berlin, Germany.
