Nick Mancini Biography
NICK MANCINI is an internationally renowned vibraphonist, jazz musician, composer, arranger, and band leader. His original compositions as well as cherry-picked jazz standards create the fertile soil for spontaneous arrangements, which are, at once, fresh, incisive and cinematic. Nick graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Master's degree in jazz performance and was a recipient of the President's Award scholarship. After 10 years honing his craft in NYC, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he lived and thrived on the LA Jazz scene for 14 years. In 2020, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, but returns to L.A. often to play and record. Mancini has eight independently released records under his own name; storyteller, West Coast Cool, No Questions Asked, and Impulse between 2013 and early 2015, alone and the latest release, his second organ band project, The Long Game. He has performed and recorded with Arturo Sandoval, Stanley Clarke, Harvey Mason, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Peter Erskine, Poncho Sanchez, Kamasi Washington, Kenny Werner, New York Voices and Jennifer Holliday to name a few and has been a faculty member at two California State University campuses; Northridge (CSUN) and Long Beach, Bob Cole Conservatory. With a host of world-class musicians in his midst, he continues to be an in-demand musician selecting from the cream-of-the-crop to form his highly energized ensembles. Recognized by the industry, he holds endorsement contracts with Majestic vibes and Innovative Percussion mallets. www.nickmancini.net
