SUCH A MESS Biography
Such a Mess was born out of the early days of the sun-soaked California pop punk revival, when members from several So-Cal bands began writing songs together for fun. In 2010, Such a Mess released their first song demo, "Times Like These", which quickly began gathering strong buzz online, followed by the Times Like These EP, produced by Johnny Liu (Stanley and the Search), in December 2011.
From the song and EP's popularity, the band won the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, securing a spot on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. After a long writing period throughout 2013 (including a second consecutive Warped Tour spot), Such a Mess released their debut LP, Good Intentions Giving Way, on April 29, 2014. The LP, co-produced by Johnny Liu and Kyle Black (All Time Low, New Found Glory, Pierce the Veil), highlights the band's strong punk rock roots, juxtaposed against a new-found emo revivalist affinity. The band has continued to dive deeper into that emotional space.
"We're not the happy boys we were a few years ago. Let's face it, life sucks and it gets the best of us. This is us pouring our hearts out to the world."
