About this concert
About South Country Fair: What began as a camping weekend for several local folk clubs in 1987 intended for organizers to get to know each other better morphed into an annual 3-day event. The mission of South Country Fair has always been to expand cultural horizons in Southern Alberta by giving our citizens the opportunity to experience a diversity of music, spoken word and performance art in the context of a three-day, camping-style, old-world outdoor folk music festival. Come celebrate 30 years of South Country Fair!Oh Susanna will be on the MainStage on Saturday night as well as on workshop stages throughout the weekend.

Suzie Ungerleider Biography
Born in the US and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Suzie Ungerleider began performing under the name Oh Susanna in the mid-1990s, winning instant praise for her striking voice, poetic song-craft and live performances.
Suzie had been quietly working as a clerk at a Vancouver library when in 1996 she self-released a cassette tape of seven songs recorded for just $200, and found herself besieged by music industry executives and agents after performing a tiny set at a local club. For over two decades, thousands of shows, and ten critically acclaimed albums, Suzie’s gloriously emotive, crystalline voice, her bewitching performances and her fierce songwriting have consistently captivated audiences, her peers and the press.
She is the recipient of a Genie Award for Best Original Song and a Canadian Folk Music Award for English Songwriter of the Year. She has also been nominated for three Juno Awards and five Canadian Folk Music Awards (Best Solo Performer, Best Contemporary Singer, and English Songwriter of the Year). Now based again in her home town of Vancouver and performing under her birth name, Suzie has now garnered another Juno Nomination for Best Contemporary Roots Album of the year and Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for her 10th release entitled My Name is Suzie Ungerleider. The recording is produced Jim Bryson whose assured touch amplifies the atmospheric dreamscapes contained in Suzie's reflective, intimate songbook.
Suzie lives in Vancouver with her husband, her daughter and her dog, Willow.
