At first listen, Lynne Hanson's warm, but gritty music leads you to think of America's South, but she and her band are from Winnipeg, Canada. Her songs are formed from a lifetime of experiences in blues, rock and roots music that bleeds fro her very being. Her songs are familiar and comfortable, yet fearless and strong. Her bluesy vocals are pure and full of fortitude. \nAt the start of 2018, Lynne teamed up with her long time friend Lynn Myles to release and album and tour under the name of the LyNNeS. Now she is back with her band The Good Intentions, which again features MJ Dandeneau on bass, with new members Kevin Corbett on lead guitar and mandolin and Cody Iwasiuk on drums.\nSupporting, will be special guest Amy Andrews from Atlanta, Georgia. Amy has a voice that is reminiscent of Eva Cassidy. It can change from soaring to reserved in an instant. There is an intimacy in her live performance that make the listener feel she is singing just to them.

Too tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country, LYNNE HANSON’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. Her hard living music has garnered her the nickname “Canada’s own Queen of Americana.” And while her deep, bluesy croon has drawn comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, it’s the poetry of her lyrics that really sets her apart.
A two-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner, Hanson is known for her high energy, roots guitar driven live performances, whether playing solo or with her band the Good Intentions. She has an uncanny way of connecting with her audience with an authenticity that is as entertaining as it is disarming.
Lynne Hanson will release her tenth album Just A Poet in May 2024.
