Nescient Biography
Nescient formed in early 2011 on the Gold Coast, Australia. The band set out early to discover and create their own unique sound within the metal scene, drawing from the eclectic musical influences of each member.
Nescient’s sound has always been built on groove being number one; combining death and thrash metal influences with harmony and concepts from other genres like jazz to create an interesting soundscape that both captures and holds the listeners attention.
After struggling to find a permanent line-up early on, Nescient released their first EP in 2014, which portrayed a thrashy, death metal style sound (available for free at: http://nescient-metal.bandcamp.com). Two years of solid national touring followed until further member losses forced the band into a year-long hiatus while searching for a guitarist. In early 2017 and tired of waiting, they decided to go ahead and write new music as a 4-piece. Nescient’s new material focuses on dark, groovey sounds based on jazz harmony to bring to life a colourful, yet brutal, aural palette.
Expect new music from Nescient in 2018.
