Paul Cannon IRON SAGE WOOD Biography

Paul Cannon, Abner Nevarez , Damian DeRobbio, Christopher Cooper and Rob Machado are Iron Sage Wood.

Iron Sage Wood independently produced and released their first studio EP titled ‘Unite the Tribe’ now available online.
Paul Cannon and Iron Sage Wood have been acknowledged and nominated for a Native American Music Award (equivalent to a Grammy) for their song ‘Love Life’.

Cannon, who is a descendent of the Waipuk clan - Mountain King Snake clan are a part of the great Kumeyaay Nation (Native to San Diego, Ca.) and is part of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians. Cannon wrote the popular tune, ‘Love Life’, it’s a song that depicts the struggles of Native Americans living in a modern western society. Derived from Cannon’s upbringing on the San Pasqual Indian Reservation, Paul’s message serves as a reminder “that no matter what we face or where we come from, we should love this life we are given”.

Cannon, Derobbio, Nevarez and Cooper all come from different tribal lineages and they have chosen to band together in support of causes and organizations that inspire healthy action, awareness and connection to our environmental needs, music, healthy families, regenerative farming and indigenous cultural preservation.
