Uncle Blue Biography
Uncle Blue is a professional blues band, based out of Oklahoma. Each member has his own epic tale as a working musician with a career that spans decades. Their combined experience range from small, union gigs to global tours, sharing the stage with musical legends. As sidemen, it was their job to play it right and keep it tight, to make those stars in the spotlight sound great. Now, the sidemen step out of the shadows, and take the spotlight for themselves! Uncle Blue is fronted by Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Freddy Lee Rice, on guitar and lead vocals, backed by former A.J. Johnson & Why Not bandmate, Floyd Parker, on bass, and master keyboardist, Tommy Miller, who broadens their sound with layers of piano, Hammond-organ, or sometimes even accordion. Their love for classic blues brought them together, and using it as a base, they incorporate a variety of styles that shape their unique sound, yet always stay true to their roots. As well-seasoned professionals, Uncle Blue knows how to work an audience. Whether it be a little more folk or a lot more funk, they can add what it takes to create the vibe needed to get people on their feet and feeling good. Uncle Blue is also professionally equipped, including lighting and sound systems if needed, and ready to perform at private events, music festivals, and concert tours. Uncle Blue performs American blues music with heavy doses of grease, soul and heart. Music that's on a familiar path but goes down a different road.
