The spellbinding Israeli songstress Dana Likvornik drops jaws from Tel Aviv to London and recently also at the U.S with her mesmerising vocal flow catching ears in English and Hebrew over groove-drenched tunes straight from the soul
She started performing in musicals when she was just 7 years old.
When she turned 18 she Recruited to a military band of the IDF where she served for two years as a singer and sang for soldiers during the second Lebanon war.
After her discharged from the army she got accepted to "Rimon School by "Berklee College of Music- and Contemporary Music" . She studied hearing development, writing, composing and voice lessons.
At 2012 she released her SOUL, Jazz, R&B debut Album "SWAN" assembled from 8 songs she wrote composed and recorded with a major producer -
Yossi fine (worked with David Bowie,Brian eno,Lou reed, and more).
Dana is an unsigned artist who's now working on her second album with a well known producer from the UK , Femi Temowo a British jazz guitarist, musical director,producer, broadcaster described by Time Out magazine as " "one of Europe's finest guitarists"
He was nominated for the Best Jazz Act MOBO Award (2012) and worked with artist such as Amy Winehouse, The Roots, George Benson.
To be able to fund this project and to work with Femi Dana has decided to open 'headstrart' project and through crowdfunding she succeed to raise 60,000 shekels .
Dana performed at Ronnie Scott's , one of the most famous Jazz clubs in London where artist like Nina Simone, Prince and Curtis Mayfield has performed, she is the first Israeli female artist that sang in Hebrew in this legendary venue
The album is being recorded these days in Israel and at the same time at the UK at "Sensible Music" studio's in London - which recorded artists such as Lady Gaga, Roger Waters and Amy Winehouse, this unique project which named by "DANA'S WORLD COLLABORATION" Receiving cooperation from artists all over the world such as Poogie Bell (drummer of Erykah Badu and Sting), PEE WEE ELIS (James Brown's saxophonist), Sterling Crew (Santana's keyboardist) and many more
Performing live solo/ Trio/ big band with professional musicians
Dana's debut album "Swan" has won titles such as:
Discovery of the Year 2013 at 88 FM radio station.
- "Maybe" Song of the Year for 106FM "kol Izrael" Radio station.
The second single, "Ken Roza" was chosen to perform "song of the week" and Radius 88 FM and 99FM.
Dana received 2 grants from ACUM to release her debut album.
Dana's songs has been played several times at "smooth radio" London UK
and she also been selected "singer of the year" of 2013 at 88FM radio
