Maggie Belle Band

Maggie Belle Band is a 7-piece ensemble from New Orleans, Louisiana. Bringing together piano, bass, drums, and horns backing a soulful and impassioned frontwoman, the band plays an original blend of R&B, soul, funk, blues, with the occasional touch of hip hop. Born of the musical whirlpool that drew many of its members to New Orleans from all corners of the U.S., Maggie Belle Band has been making a splash in its hometown by combining solid grooves from a tasteful rhythm section with deep and heartfelt vocal performances from Maggie Belle herself. The band has been described as having "the rhythm of a J Dilla track and the soulful vocals of an early Grace Slick" and "emotive and fun, with a hint of illicitness and noir." Maggie Belle Band self-released its debut EP in June 2015, and has toured around the southeast many times since then, bringing their unique and powerful sound to audiences in Austin and Houston, Texas; Lake Charles, LA; Greenville and Clemson, SC; Asheville and Durham, NC; Tuscaloosa, AL, and even Philadelphia.
