China Lane Biography
Hidden away in their basement studio, CHINA // LANE are a Manchester based punchy electronic pop quartet fronted by singer/ songwriters Reuben Hester & Chloë Bebbington, alongside multi-instrumentalists and producers Jack Candela & Danny Marland.
Having written and recorded the majority of their music in make-shift bedroom studios, the band recently took on their own studio space where they have been busy exploring musical ideas; recording, writing and producing everything independently.
Their debut powerful pop ballad ‘Marco Polo’ received great attention, gaining over 300,000 Spotify plays and was subsequently added to “The Best of Introducing” mix tape on BBC Radio 6 Music.
CHINA // LANE’s second synth dominated single ‘In Motion’ has accumulated over 900,000 plays and has also been added to the River Island, Top Shop, H&M, Debenhams and New Look in-store playlists. The track also quickly climbed to No.1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 in Holland with BBC Introducing Manchester showing great support keeping it spinning on their show for ten weeks running.
Influenced by legends such as Chic & Daft Punk to name but a few, the quartet take inspiration from many different genres having grown up in very different musical environments and it is these variations of inspiration that come together in the studio to create synth powered, funk filled, pop hits.
