Charles Ramsey

Charles Ramsey is a New York City-based singer/songwriter. He will be releasing his third CD, Love Don’t Need to Feel So Foreign, on May 7th, 2012. Like his earlier work, this five song EP showcases Ramsey’s keen melodic sense, while the band-driven arrangements give an edge to these finely crafted pop songs.

Charles Ramsey’s previous album, Good Morning & Good Night, was released in 2009 to international acclaim. Drawing comparisons to Burt Bacharach, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Folds, Morrissey, and The Divine Comedy, the album was described as “one of the best releases of 2009” by the Brazil-based music site, Paralelo Pop, and ranked in the top 50 of Absolute Powerpop’s Top 100 Albums of 2009.

Since moving from Philadelphia to New York City in June 2011, Charles Ramsey has been making a name for himself in some of the most prestigious singer/songwriter venues throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Following several performances at the Brooklyn-based “Resonance” showcase, JezebelMusic.com described Ramsey as “one of the finest songsters to perform at Resonance to date.” His music has received airplay in the US and in the UK on stations such as WXPN in Philadelphia, WSTW in Wilmington, and Salford City Radio in Salford, England.
