Nate and TJ are such talented artists and their performances were great! We had been very excited to check out Notes (the venue) and this was a great opportunity. I only wish Notes was interested in educating it's patrons to refrain from talking (loudly) during perfromances. Even though they are promoting artists, they appear to see themselves as a bar first and a venue for artists second.

Nate Jones Biography

“The Nate Jones Band EP is an old-school record for modern audiences, balanced somewhere between the glory days of the Laurel Canyon Sound and the resurgence of neo-soul music.” -Jaimie Ward, Music News Nashville “No synthesizers here. No dance music for the sake of dance. Just good solid rock the way it was once played—for the music and for the song.” -Frank Gutch, Jr., IndieMusicology.com “The Nate Jones Band EP, is a terrific collection of diverse songs that shows off [Jones’] incredible range.” -Jeff Niesel, Cleveland Scene “A fleckless blend of handcrafted rock, folk, country, soul, and blues.” -S. Victor Aaron, SomethingElseReviews.com “With a croon evocative of David Gray, Nate Jones and his remarkable ensemble make records the old school way.” -Tom Semioli, Minor7th.com “Jones is a singer-songwriter with a folk vibe, Laurel Canyon sensibility and neo-soul influence.” -John Benson, Youngstown Vindicator With a song recently featured on an episode of ABC Family’s “Kevin from Work” and an invitation to support the likes of O.A.R., Grace Potter and X Ambassadors at Cleveland’s LaureLive summer festival, 2016 is off to an exciting start for Nate Jones Band, the folksy, harmony-driven ensemble fronted by singer-songwriter Nate Jones. Recently heralded by Cleveland Magazine as a 2016 “Emerging Artist to Watch,” the band is booking spring and summer dates throughout the Midwest and Northeast to support its recent sophomore EP release, “This Old Town.” “This Old Town” follows the band’s lauded 2014 debut release, “The Nate Jones Band EP.” Produced by Relient K’s Dave Douglas, “The Nate Jones Band EP” was conceived as a radio-ready vehicle to showcase Jones’ triple-threat skillset as a songwriter, guitarist, and virtuoso singer. Built on a risk-taking hybrid foundation of R&B-tinged rock and coffee-house folk, the EP puts Jones’ delicate and compelling vocals front and center, while giving his retro-70s-inspired backing ensemble room to stretch their rock and blues chops. “[Jones] can pilot the emotional current in a ballad like “What Goes Up,” which swells up from just his voice and acoustic guitar to something anthemic before returning to its simple roots.” – S. Victor Aaron, SomethingElseReviews.com. A Cleveland native, Jones made his first foray into the singer-songwriter scene as a college student in New Orleans, where he was quick to earn comparisons to big names (John Mayer, Ray LaMontagne, Elton John) and integrate into a steady rotation of dates at the city’s legendary venues (Tipitina’s, The Howlin’ Wolf, Blue Nile). The experience made a lasting impression on Jones, who spent his first post-grad years refining his soul-influenced sound in clubs and coffee houses across the country. In addition to its regular headlining and co-bill engagements in the Midwest, the act is a regular in New York City (The Bitter End, Rockwood, Pianos, Bowery Electric, The Living Room) and Chicago (City Winery, Hard Rock, Uncommon Ground). The act has appeared on Cleveland television and FM radio (Fox 8, NPR, WJCU) and has opened for a number of national acts in diverse genres (Marc Cohn, Tab Benoit, Eric Hutchinson, the Rebirth Brass Band). Singer-songwriter and head of the Nate Jones Band - a soulful, blues-based rock band with a touch of jazz and folk.
