Mary's Little Lamb

Mary’s Little Lamb is a five-piece band, bringing filmic alt-country and sun-kissed Americana, in which the brass section and the deep voice of the singer play prominent parts. Since 2015 the band consists of Bart Hendrickx (vocals, guitar, banjo), Bert Cuypers (upright bass), Mike Van Daele (drums), Kevin Van Hoof (trumpet) and Stijn Cumps (trumpet).

Proof of the scenic qualities of the songs of Mary’s Little Lamb is that they found their way into the soundtrack of several shows on national television.

In February 2017 ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ was released on record label Rootz Rumble. This critically acclaimed album is a bubbling cocktail of musical styles. The band carries you past a series of diverse scenes, through dark and captivating stories of love, betrayal, magic, escape and loss.
On ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ Mary’s Little Lamb alternates between big soundscapes, thickened by strings and brass, and more subdued, acoustic songs. You can hear festive latin - and texmex sounds, other songs could easily serve in the soundtrack of a spaghetti western.
On ‘Elixir for the Drifter’ the band collaborated with a number of guest musicians, including a string quartet. One of the most striking songs of the album is ‘Saguaro’, a duet with singer Kathleen Vandenhoudt.
