"I attended your concert last weekend. I was able to thank you after the show for a wonderful evening but I wanted to put in writing how much I enjoyed the musical journey you shared with us. The first thing you notice is how much you both love music and telling stories through your songs. The joy you express performing is contagious. The musical talent you display in your voices, instrumentation, and songwriting is striking.
While all the songs you sing are great, the songs you have written are particularly stirring as it is evident that they tell stories from your life journey and are heartfelt, and even haunting at times.
But what I was struck with the most that evening is that you open your heart and soul through your music. The stories you shared enhanced the music you performed - I truly felt that I got to know you; that through your songs and stories you were sharing part of your life with us. I felt a deep and emotional connection to your music and beautiful lyrics. And with all this, it was fun, funny and totally enjoyable." - Audience Member Review
"Casey Kelly and Leslie Ellis performed the story of lives apart and together in The Long Road to You. These two sublime singer/songwriters have amazing backstories including a Grammy for Ellis and a string of number one hits penned by Kelly, including George Strait's signature song, "The Cowboy Rides Away" and "Anyone Who Isn't Me Tonight" which was a number one hit by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West. Ellis won her Grammy for singing My Heart Will Go On with Celine Dion, and also starred as Grizabella the lead in CATS the Broadway Musical. They performed "Memory" (from CATS) in the show, as well as "My Heart Will Go On" in very imaginative ways, not trying to be true to the original, but lending a whole new feel that was truly their own, especially with Kelly's impeccable guitar picking.
