About this concert
To quote Stuart MacLean and the Vinyl Cafe: “We may not be big, but we’re small.” Farmer The Band is a two-person-one-man-band from southern BC performing Canadian grown americana. 5 years ago, they met at an open mic and have been performing together ever since. Their music is influenced heavily by CBC radio and the many amazing songwriters in this great country. Touring as a duo, both members play multiple instruments at once to give a full band sound with a fraction the food budget! Their music has been taking them across the country, performing in living rooms to festivals and everything in between. http://www.farmertheband.com/music---video.html

Farmer The Band Biography

Farmer The Band are multi tasking, multi instrumentalist, indie folksters based in southern BC. Their Americana... sorry - Canadiana – songwriting and storytelling has been taking the new band across Canada. The duo’s folk roots music fills the stage with vocal harmonies, guitar, bass, harmonica, drums, percussion, and anything else that’s in arm’s (or foot’s) reach. Their songs and their stage set up will draw you in. Touring as a duo, the “two-person-one-man-band” delivers a full ensemble sound live off the floor with no looping, just honest musicality and love for what they do.
One half of the band, Lourine Koide is a harvester of metaphors and hope, inspired by the social conscious poetry of her South African roots and new homeland of Canada. The other half of the band, Glen Koide, a BC boy, born and raised, is a flat pickin’, finger pluckin’ strummer equally at home on the acoustic or electric guitar.
The singer songwriting team started off performing with two guitars in local coffee shops and farmers markets as a folk duo. Now they perform with a van full of instruments in venues coast to coast as husband and wife.
