About this concert
Music of Alex Davis is back in Baltimore, Maryland at Tagliata! Alex Davis (Greenville, SC) brings smooth piano-vocal renditions of his solo work, his bands Passing Worth (indie/jazz/soul/pop) and Miles To Go (prog-rock) along with his interpretations of from great artists old and new. Alex's love for diverse genres of music is infectious. His bands, Passing Worth, Miles to Go and solo performance are tied together by his classically trained voice and love of the keyboard. With a Bachelor's of Music Composition, Alex integrates fundamental and familiar musical beauty into a richly matured and original sound. His poetry reflects on life’s compelling truths, so often found within honest inconsistency. Moving seamlessly from light-hearted love to passionate hopelessness and on through to assured peace of mind, Alex Davis is laid bare in his own journey. With each song he gives a new story—a new moment that allows listeners to explore thoughts and feelings so easily left unattended. Music of Alex Davis Biography

Alex Davis grew up in a musical household and began writing songs at the piano during his high school years in 2004. He scored his first feature film, Broken Dreams with an orchestral soundtrack in 2006 and began his classical training in music theory shortly after. In 2010 he graduated from University of South Carolina with his Bachelor of Music Composition. That same year, he released his first solo album, Like a Dream (2010). He lived and worked full time as an A/V Media Specialist and Live Sound & Recording Engineer in Columbia, SC from 2010-2015 and created his home studio, affectionately called Wentworth Studios. The space provided a safe-haven for exploration as he refined his recording engineering and his song-writing. As musicians came to the studio, bringing their own style and taste, Alex’s solo project evolved into the Alex Davis Band before strategically forming into two bands, Passing Worth (indie/jazz/soul/pop) and Miles to Go (progressive-rock). Both bands released full length albums; Miles to Go released Gypsy (2013) and Passing Worth released Getting Over You (2015). In July of 2015, Alex moved upstate to Greenville, SC to take on music composition and private recording engineering full time. He began his music blog on musicofalexdavis.com in December 2015, sharing his new pieces as musical reflections. Alex will be on tour, sharing original music and entertaining across the US and Canada beginning in February 2016. Miles to Go’s second album, Perspective will be released in April 2016.
