Juliet Oliver Music Biography
There is something about a country music song that’s like a good wine. There’s a quality, a workmanship, a passion that goes in to both. Hailing from the South Australian wine region of McLaren Vale, 20 year old songwriter and country singer Juliet Oliver first discovered country music through watching Disney program Hannah Montana as an 11 year old. This led to her parents gifting her a guitar and so Juliet started teaching herself guitar via YouTube.
Like many young country artists her age, it was Taylor Swift who pulled her in to the genre, which guided Juliet to begin crafting songs about her experiences as a young teenager. It was the freedom of performance and song-writing of country music that was preferred over classical lessons at school.
As she fell in love with country music, Juliet began to search out other country artists where she discovered and was inspired by the great women of country such as pioneer Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt, and songwriters Dolly Parton and Jason Isbell.
On her debut self titled EP with her sweet warm vocal, Juliet Infuses her influences into youthful stories of positivity, inspiration and heartbreak. The impossibly cute songstress sings on lead track and first single “I Don’t Want To Get Over You”…“I’m sure you’ve heard it all before but It feels so right and the summers so warm”. The last song written for the project came to Juliet only a few weeks before going into the studio to record with Producer Simon Johnson at his Hillbilly Hut studio on the New South Wales Central Coast. An upbeat, feel good song about not giving into heartbreak and doing what you want.
A passionate entertainer Juliet has been building new converts through her shows on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, south of Adelaide. Stepping into her own with a shower of senses through her songs, conviction and performance.
With a country attitude, there is definitely a little edge to Juliet Oliver with a touch of classic. She is true to herself, age and where she comes from. She writes what she lives and not pop songs decorated in country feels. Her songs and her performances will connect with country music fans with her own colour and texture.
