Nick Fratta Biography

Nick Fratta is a fuzz folk pop songwriter known for his empathetic lyricism and understated but powerful delivery. His sound evokes memories of scenic drives and sunsets on porches.

Nick finds escape in music, which is conveyed through his writing and recording. Between layers of charming harmonies, soft synths, crunchy guitars, and electric drum grooves, there is space to climb into and get lost.

Originally from St. Louis, Nick has been performing in bands as a pianist and singer since 14. He grew into his own voice while living in KC after college, but a back injury forced him to trade the keyboards in for something lighter weight. In 2018 he took up baritone ukulele and soon after tenor guitar. Through the limitations of learning a new instrument, his voice was refined even further, honing an ear for minimal compositions with great impact.

Nick’s style is reminiscent of Ben Kweller’s Sha Sha, with an edge of Weezer’s Pinkerton. Current influences include Hannah Jadagu, Jalen Ngonda, Alvvays, Remi Wolf, Big Thief, and Toro Y Moi.
