Downslave Biography

Following the acclaimed "Cost of Freedom" (Recorded by the late Corey Smoot of Gwar),which granted the band stage time in support of national acts such as Megadeth, Fear Factory, & DevilDriver, DOWNSLAVE are officially ready to satisy their fan’s eager for a new release. “Black List”, the new five song E.P. from the Knoxville, Tennessee quintet is due for release digitally worldwide April 15th, 2014. Recorded in Niagara Falls , NY by Mike Hatalak (It Dies Today, STEMM, Still Remains), “Black List” features the debut of current vocalist Nate Queen (ex Roadrunner Recording Artist Sanctity) rounding out the southern thrash metal sound they have come to perfect, performing on numerous stages throughout the country. Many bands would find satisfaction in accomplishing what DOWNSLAVE has touring the country, working with reknowned producers, and landing a sponsorship with Jägermeister...but is it enough for DOWNSLAVE? “Definitely not”, says guitarist Scott Kirkland, “We’ve had a taste of what we can do on a big stage by performing alongside some of metal’s major acts in support of their headlining shows. We’re aiming to hit the road alongside a national headlining band and continue to independently tour in the meantime in support of ”Black List”. Keep making progress, keep pushing forward. That’s what DOWNSLAVE has always been about, and always will be about.” Hard-hitting Southern thrash!
