Absolutely superb show from Tamworth's finest, as ever. Blaze was at his best, having his usual banter with the crowd and it was great to see him back on top form after his health scare, as it was to see Jase the Ace on guitar. If you haven't seen Wolfsbane, then you need to. They are great entertainers and one the best bands around in smaller venues. Never disappointed when I see the boys 🤘

Wolfsbane Biography

This is the beginning of the story. Four guys from Tamworth, England. They were a band made by their fans, who they named Howling Mad Sh**heads or HMS.

In the beginning, Jeff Hateley (bass) and Jase Edwards (guitar) started the band at school with a different name and that eventually turned into Wolfsbane. Then Blaze Bayley joined as the singer followed by drummer Steve ‘Danger’ Ellett. Their dreams were small in the early days. They just wanted to get a mention in the music section of the local paper. They were too stubborn to give up, and way too determined to think they wouldn’t make it.

The Tamworth Rock Festival, Castle Grounds 1984. That was probably where it started to get really serious. They had no equipment of their own apart from guitars so had to borrow gear from friends any time they wanted to play a gig. However, they did have attitude and treated every gig like it was a stadium. They became a part of a thriving and diverse music scene in Tamworth.

From becoming the biggest band in Tamworth to the biggest unsigned metal band in the UK their reputation grew. They signed a deal with Rick Rubin’s Def American Records and made their first album, ‘Live Fast, Die Fast’ at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California. After recording this and playing some small gigs in the UK they went on to support Iron Maiden on their sold out UK tour along with releasing ‘All Hells Breaking Loose Down at Little Kathy Wilson’s Place’. They carried on to release Down Fall The Good Guys that was recorded at Abbey Road in 1991. Building their ‘Live’ reputation headlining at London’s Astoria and other major venues around the country. After a live album ‘Massive Noise Injection’ and the next eponymously titled studio album ‘Wolfsbane’, the band split when Blaze left for a stint as singer in Iron Maiden.

In 2011 they came back to cause more mayhem! With a new EP, new Album, tours! Howling madness!!! Wolfsbane are back and are here to 'Save the World!'...........Now pour yourself an ice cold glass of 'don't give a s**t' and join them ‘live’. It's your round - four bottles of Newcy Brown!!
