Diverge

Diverge is a group formed in early 2013 by Eric Potapenko (guitarist for Gravity, L.E.D), brothers Kyle Tresch (drummer for Concordia, Chris Black) and Garrett Tresch (Ray Flannigan and the Authorities, Chris Black). The singer/guitarist told interviewers “this journey was long awaited and finally needed to be taken.” Potapenko talked about how the band was formed out of “timing and opportunity”. By the end of his college days, Potapenko locked himself in his basement studio and began writing songs, which would eventually become the foundation of Diverge. Catching the attention of Cleveland producer, Ben Crespo (L.E.D, Superheroes), Potapenko was asked to record his EP with Crespo helping produce and engineer it. “Eric has such a unique tone and sound that I just wanted to help establish it with him. Mixing his unique voice with his virtuosic guitar playing, I knew we had created a monster.” Potapenko and Crespo began working on the EP in late September of 2013 and are currently finishing mixing and mastering processes.
