Short Fuse Biography

Short Fuse™ is a six piece, Melodic Death Metal act from the San Francisco area who craft their compositions by skillfully combining melodic riffs with powerful driving beats augmented with electronic background scores and savage upfront vocals. One of the hardest working bands in metal, shortly after their formation in the previous year, they released their full-length 2005 debut album, "Hate Brought to this Place Called Home". The album, which was produced by Juan Urteaga (Vile, Machine Head, Skinlab) with select tracks engineered by Professional Murder Music frontman Roman Marisak and skillfully mastered by Tom Baker of Precision Mastering (Marilyn Mason, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails), kick started the band into full gear the moment it dropped. No stranger to the stage, they have toured in Europe and across the US capturing the imagination of thousands of fans at festivals such as Mayhem Fest, Summer Slaughter, All Stars, California Metalfest, Locobazooka, Rockin' Roots, End of Summer Days, Seattle Hempfest, and LocoFest. They have performed with many of the dominating players in the music scene including Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse, Disturbed, Dying Fetus, Fear Factory, (hed) P.E., Job for a Cowboy, Killswitch Engage, Motorhead, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Suicide Silence, We Came As Romans , and White Chapel, along with legends such as Alice in Chains, Obituary, Slayer and countless others. Their performances have been witnessed by fans at prestigious venues on both coasts such as the Shoreline Amphitheater (California), the Tweeter/Comcast Center (Massachusetts) and W. Palm Beach Intl Raceway (Florida). Short Fuse is known for infecting their audience by delivering unforgettable performances that leave their bruised and intense fans bloodthirsty for more! With the release of their second album, "Shred the Dead", Short Fuse had grown by leaps and bounds. The new sound implemented a more aggressive, driving, rip-your-face-off style that they feel right at home with. Shred the Dead, which was recorded at Trident Studios by Juan Urteaga and produced by Sleiz E Smith, is 12 tracks of brutal grinding metal that embodies everything Short Fuse is about. From radio friendly tracks such as 'Creature' and 'Defeated' to ruthless tracks like 'Lifeless' and 'Nail it to the Brain' as well as the dark, blackened tones of 'Rape Your Sanity' and 'Shred the Dead', this release raised the bar for the band and set a new standard for original metal. With the following EP, "Annihilate the Masses", Short Fuse again introduced new pulse-pounding tracks such as the spectacular production "Swallowed Earth". Complementing the new material is a collection of sound tracks from selected, live performances and previously unreleased tracks recorded from their first year of formation. As with previous releases, all material was written and performed by Short Fuse. But as a showcase of their incredible range of skills, this album was entirely engineered, produced, and mastered by Short Fuse. The third full-length album, "The Force of Hate" was also self-produced, but with some help and guidance from long-time collaborator, Juan Urteaga. The new album ushers in a new era with stronger musical hooks, a wider range of song writing diversity, and industrial style electronics, all while maintaining the heavy edge that fans have come to expect. With 11 brand new original songs as well as a cover of Rob Zombie's "Super-Charger Heaven", the band explores new territory, but stays true to the core of Short Fuse. With an arsenal consisting of screamer and intense guttural vocalist Myke "Death" DiBattista, the eerie leads of Scott "Beef" Chavez, Frank Casares' distorted rhythm static, low end thud producer Larry Hoang, the relentless beatings slammed by Dan "Zaffle" Hartnet, and Martin Boynton's insane symphonic spasms, the musical world is being taken by storm. So turn your stereos up, leave the weak behind, and prepare for the impending blood-bath. There is an epidemic hitting your town; the Short Fuse disease is spreading fast! 6 Piece, Bay Area, Melodic Death Metal! HELL IS EARTH AND THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE STAYING - Fuck The World
