The Monsoon

Melding classic rock n’ roll melodies with a seductive and modern sound, The Monsoon offer a unique perspective into the psyche of a generation starved for authentic music. Inspired by the angular riffs and modern rock n’ roll aesthetics of industry giants such as The Strokes, Interpol and Arctic Monkeys, Oli Gonzalez (bass guitar/lead vocals), Jesus Diaz (rhythm guitar), Javi Vargas (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Rick Bustamante (percussion/backing vocals) reunited in October of 2015 after a prolonged engagement with other musical projects. The band initially came together back in 2009 when high school friends and passionate music enthusiasts, Diaz and Gonzalez, set out to carve a new vision. They were keenly intent on placing their own stamp on the indie music scene and soon attracted the talents of Vargas and Bustamante. Their artistry is one that strives to transcend the scene and transform it into a genuine movement with which to carry forward their vision for a new and exciting era in music.
