About this concert
Since it's at a library, perhaps we should call it 'Craic in the Stacks'. (bodhrán rim shot). If all of this Gaelic humor is lost on you, then you should come to this concert which promises to be big fun with two stellar musical friends, Maddie Maher (fiddle, vocals) and Russ Cole (Irish Flute). ree and open to the public.

Michael DeLalla Biography
“One of the very best acoustic guitarists in the world....music of the most exquisite order.”
Matt Fink/All Music Guide
For more than 30 years as a composer and concert guitarist, Michael DeLalla has drawn on the musical traditions he has gathered worldwide. His work celebrates his multi-cultural musical habitats in a variety of settings, from a capella kan e diskan in Breton Gaelic, to evocations of Japanese koto music and the North African o’ud, to tweaking the nose of the classical music world with his raucous "Piece for Steel Drum (If I Played Steel Drum)" to his double homage to Benjamin Britten and Thelonious Monk (“Nocturnal Scenes ‘Round About Midnight”). He has also earned acclaim for his scores composed for film, video and dance, including the recent short film for James Anderson’s novel “Lullaby Road”.
Michael has over 100 credits as a producer, with projects ranging from solo instrumentalists to world music ensembles, from a Tibetan Singing Bowl master to an award winning hammered dulcimist. His own discography includes recordings of solo guitar compositions, his work with the seminal world chamber ensemble Oxymora, his Celtic trio The Unfortunate Rakes, and a Christmas/Winter Solstice/Winter Holiday recording drawing on traditions from around the globe. He has appeared as a guest artist on more than 40 recordings. Michael also conducts workshops around the country based on his book The Mindful Guitarist (2015), where he explores his principles on the Creative Process through a range of topics for both guitarists and non-guitarists.
