Brenda Nicole Moorer Biography
Brenda Nicole Moorer is a singer and songwriter based in Atlanta, recently awarded Best Soul/Jazz Vocalist by Creative Loafing and featured on Good Day Atlanta. She has performed on notable stages including the Blue Note in New York, Rockwood Music Hall, City Winery Atlanta, and headlining the next generation stage at Atlanta Jazz Festival. She has shared stages with jazz heavy hitters like Roy Ayers and Christian McBride. Brenda fuses soul, folk, and jazz elements into her songwriting, crafting songs with wit and depth. Moorer works closely with Brooklyn based keyboardist/producer Jesse Fischer, and they released the EP, “For Lovers & Believers,” presenting music with a positive message, simple melodies atop laid back rhythms, heavy Rhodes, and underlying synths. That EP garnered the attention of Ebony Magazine, Singersroom, Soul Bounce, and AfroElle. Brenda’s latest album, Brand New Heart was co-written by Kenny Banks Jr and Jesse Fischer embarking on a full length album which features Chris Turner from Snarky Puppy’s Family Dinner. Her latest work landed her on Good Day Atlanta twice, and a licensing deal in Japan with P-Vine Records. Moorer’s brand of music is both refreshing and vintage, Soul Bounce describes Moorer’s voice as “ a sweet voice that sounds like a blend between Minnie Riperton and Corinne Bailey Rae.”
