K90 Biography

K90 – ‘Biography’

In 1992 a fresh faced producer from the Eastern Counties of England stepped off the train at Ladbroke Grove Tube Station in West London en route to his first ever encounter in a recording studio. That studio was located in the basement of the Kickin’ Records office in Westbourne Park Road, and the experience proved to be the beginning of a journey nobody could have predicted.
Fast forward over two hedonistic decades and K90 is now one the most recognisable and highly respected producers, performers and DJ’s in trance with base of loyal and loving fans spanning the globe. Famed for his trademark and enthusiastic live & DJ sets, K90 has performed at many of the world’s premier dance events and festivals including ‘Global Gathering’, ‘Creamfields’, ‘SW4’, ’Dance Valley’ and ‘Q-Base International Dance Festival’ (The Netherlands), the long running ‘Advent*jah’ Festival (Australia), ‘Checkpoint Charlie’ (New Zealand) and more recently Captured Festival (Ibiza), ‘London Hard House Reunion’ (New Zealand) and ‘Hard Dance Icons Tour’ (Australia). As well as a strong international following, K90 of course continues to be a massive favourite with UK audiences up and down the country.

Credited for his numerous productions, releases and remixes K90 is responsible for creating the clubland phenomenon that is ‘Red Snapper’, arguably one of the most renowned hard trance tracks ever made! Not content merely with single releases Mark also boasts a list of critically acclaimed albums including ‘The Inner Limits’, ‘Crash’ and fan favourite ‘Urban Anthems’ fuelling the opinion that K90 continues to be one leading authorities in dance music today!

Following on from a long and fruitful relationship with record label ‘Recover Records’ Mark’s love affair with the dance music industry continued to grow with the launch of his own label ‘Dataless Recordings’ In 2004. Since the launch of the label, Mark has not only released countless singles from his own constantly growing repertoire, but has coached many up and coming producers in an effort to try and help them fulfil their dreams in the world of dance music, just as he has over a glittering and fruitful career.

K90, still a resident in Cambridge, continues to work from his studio at home. "I just couldn't write my music anywhere else" he says "the hustle and bustle of a major city like London would be just to full on for me, artistically that is!’ And when asked in a recent interview…“how do you keep up the level of enthusiasm for each event you perform at?” Mark replied with an answer which pretty much sums up the man himself…”When I perform, it’s usually the very interaction with the crowd which spurs on my enthusiasm. They feed off my energy and I feed off theirs, it’s a two way thing” He continues “On the question of ‘do I find it easy to stay enthusiastic for every performance’ my answer would simply be this. I have the privilege of playing my music on stages at some of the biggest events here in the UK and around the world. I work every day at a job I love…and I get paid for it! Who wouldn’t be enthusiastic”?

2015 saw the launch of Mark’s K90 ‘LIVE’ REBOOT audio/visual show, tour and after an eight year writing hiatus - album, culminating in a selection of trademark ‘live’ performances at some of the UK’s largest events and festivals! By 2017 Mark had completed work on K90’s sixth studio album ‘Futureproof’ gaining great acclaim from press and fans alike as it delivered a whole new generation of future anthems and main room floor fillers.

Following a year of new material and extensive ‘Viva la Revolution’ tour in 2018, it's clear that the music of K90 is now being appreciated by a whole new and more importantly younger audience, hungry for Mark’s signature uplifting trance sound. 2019 will see the release of Viva la Revolution ‘The Album’ which packages all of Mark’s most popular contemporary trance works from the last 2-3 years and looks to further cement his reputation as a prolific producer.
