The Screaming Brain

The band started in November, 2006 as My Dead City. After a number of gigs and lineup changes My Dead City have recorded a 2-song demo in 2008, changed band's name to The Screaming Brain in February of 2009 and have broken up soon after that. Around the same time Ivan, bass player Dmitriy and a couple of other guys formed another band, called Sweet Lonely Bastards. Though it didn't last long, only about a year, the activity was more effective: band have played a handful of shows, released a 3-song live demo in October, 2009 and a 2-song EP called "When I Was Young" in November.
After another break-up Ivan and Dmitriy reformed The Screaming Brain in the spring of 2010, when Dmitriy took the guitar and Egor and Alex filled on bass and drums. This lineup finally released a self-titled demo during the fall of 2010, that was shelved for two years, played another bunch of shows, and at the end of 2011 started recording their first big record - the 9-song EP, that was later called "Life Sux" and released online on the 1st of April, 2012 and on CD in July. Dmitriy left the band right after the record session, Egor took the guitar and Vladimir joined the band as a bassist. This EP was received quite well by fans of underground pop punk not only from Russia, but also from other countries. The band got some airplays at online radio stations, played a few shows with foreign touring bands and had a song included in an international pop punk compilation called "Punk Rock World vol.1", released by Television Records in October of 2012.
Since the release of "Life Sux" band played shows with such well-known punk acts, like Elway, Authority Zero and The Gamits, also played a few shows outside Moscow for the first time ever. In May and June of 2013 4 new songs vere released as singles and then in July of 2013 they were released altogether on a 5-way split CD via Television Records, that also features new songs by Rock'N'Roll Television (Canada), The Hallingtons (Norway), The Dumbs (Poland) and Evil O'Brians (Germany).
In November of 2013 the band, now, after addition of the new drummer Sergey, as a 5 piece, went on it's first real tour, that had 4 real gigs in Moscow, Smolensk, Bryansk and Belgorod. After this short tour the band went to the practice room and started working on entirely new material, but it didn't last long and in January of 2014 the band took another hiatus.
Early summer of that year it was reformed once again, getting back as 4 piece again. Dmitry was back on guitar and Ilya sat behind the drum kit, soon to be replaced by Seva.
The Screaming Brain started playing shows again in September of 2014 and in December released another 4-song EP called "Brainless", that was recorded in September and October of the same year.

Группа была образована в конце 2006-го года в Москве под именем My Dead City. После немногочисленных концертов и многочисленных смен состава группа записывает 2-песенное демо в 2008 году и меняет название на The Screaming Brain в 2009, вскоре после чего распадается. Примерно в тот же период времени вокалист Иван, басист Дима и парочка других парней собирают команду Sweet Lonely Bastards. Несмотря на то, что группа протянула лишь немногим больше года, она была гораздо более активна. Группа успела отыграть несколько шоу, записать 3-песенное живое демо и 2-песенную EP "When I Was Young".
Весной 2010-го происходит реюньон группы The Screaming Brain. Дима взял в руки гитару, а Егор и Саша заполнили вакантные места басиста и барабанщика. С этого момента и началась современная, самая активная эпоха в жизни группы. Осенью того же года был выпущен одноименный ЕР альбом, начатый несколькими годами ранее, но незаконченный в связи с распадом. В этом составе группа отыграла несколько концертов, а осенью 2011 начала готовить свою самую большую на данный момент запись - 9-песенный CDEP "Life Sux". Дмитрий покинул группу сразу после записи, и диск уже был презентован в обновлённом составе - Егор взял гитару, а на бас вступил Вова. EP было очень неплохо принято панк-общественностью у себя в стране и за рубежом и позволило группе отыграть свои первые концерты с иностранными группами, а также получить место на интернациональном сборнике "Punk Rock World vol.1", выпущенном канадским лейблом Television Records в октябре 2012 и на зарубежных Интернет панк-радио.
После выхода "Life Sux" группа отыграла концерты с такими международно известными группами, как Elway, Authority Zero и The Gamits и впервые съездить за пределы Москвы. В мае и июне 2013 года 4 новые песни были выпущены в качестве синглов, а потом в июле уже в составе сплит-CD с участием групп Rock'N'Roll Television (Канада), The Hallingtons (Норвегия), The Dumbs (Польша) и Evil O'Brians (Германия), вышедшем также на Television Records.
В ноябре 2013, после того, как за барабаны сел Сергей, а Саша взял вторую гитару, The Screaming Brain в составе из 5 человек поехали в свой первый мини-тур по городам Смоленск, Брянск и Белгород. Вернувшись из тура группа заперлась на репбазе для оаботы над абсолютно новым материалом, но запал быстро иссяк и в январе 2014 группа взяла очередной перерыв.
В начале лета того же года ансамбль был переформирован ещё раз, вернувшись снова в составе из 4 человек: Дима вернулся на гитару, а за барабаны сел Илья, который вскоре был заменён Севой "Пауэрмэном".
Группа начала снова играть концерты в сентябре, и в сентябре-ноябре записала очередные 4 песни, которые вышли в качестве EP "Brainless" в декабре 2014.
