MC Pryme Biography

PRYME started his (professional) musical career as a rapper for the Dutch formation KING BEE, in 1989. After storming up the national and international charts (22 countries, worldwide) with the Hip-hop classics ‘Back by Dope demand’ and ‘Must Bee the music’, while touring, they finished their album ‘Royal Jelly’, for which they were rewarded an EDISON award (Best New Dutch Rap/Dance act,1990).

That same year they were awarded a STANTON award, in the same category.

Meanwhile, supporting for MADONNA, on her European tour, as well as doing their own promotional tour, Pryme Collaborated, with the producers of SNAP (I got the power) to make a remix, of Clubland feat. Quartz’s house-track ‘Let’s get Busy’, making it to no.5#, on the CLUB BILLBOARD- chart (USA).

About one year later, after ‘creative diffrences’, Pryme leaves King Bee, only to be asked, by AMSTERDAM-based record company FIFTH WORLD, to become the front-man for the live House formation SONIC SURFERS. Together with DJ MARCELLO, he writes/composes the stand-alone ClubHouse track ‘Beat of Zen’, giving him the credibility to take on the HOUSE SCENE, touring clubs around the world, with the band, AND without the band, giving him a chance to try out new material and freestyle, to any kind of music.. an MC was BORN.

While performing in Toronto (Canada) after a tv-show ,he starts writing the song ‘Take me up’ (UK top 10),only to finish it, back home, with the help, of JOCELYN BROWN and producers Brook & Trans. Jocelyn appears live on the Sonic Surfers tour and Pryme returns the favor, touring with Jocelyn.

After a streak of successful ‘gigs, as an MC, Pryme decides to go solo. Following an argument , about ‘record-company-policy’, he buys out his own contract and ventures into a solo project with record company RCA, making ‘No Players allowed’ entering the National charts once again. Disappointed after the companies miss-management of his solo-album, Pryme turns away from the Recording Industry, focusing on his career as an MC

With his mystical presence, raw vocals and hypnotic flow, PRYME soon became an MC ‘force’ to be reckoned with, favored by many Deejays and voted best MC three years in a row (UK)

To this day, his track-record stretches, from hosting and performing at clubs, like PACHA and EL DIVINO (Spain), IT, MATRIXX, SINNERS and POWERZONE (Netherlands), DOUBLE SIX (Indonesia), HAOMAN 17 and APACHE CLUB (Israel), PASSARELLA (MOROCCO), BARNABY JOE’S (Bahrain) ECHOES and PETER PAN (Italy) etc. etc., to big festivals and outdoor venues, like MYSTERYLAND, DANCE VALLEY, SENSATION, FAST FORWARD PARADE, QUEENS DAY BLOCK PARTY (Netherlands), LOVE PARADE (Germany & Israel),KRITI VIBES (Greece) , DANCE PLANET (RUSSIA) and the list goes on.

When it comes to recordings: over the years he kept featuring, on loads of tracks, with a lot of different artists/producers, keeping a low profile -so- listen closely; he might be on one of you favorite songs, because, from R&B to Hip-hop, from Trance and Techno to Chunky- Progressive-, Deep- and Club-House..

PRYME lives by a simple rule:

ANYTHING GOES, WHEN IT COMES TO FLOWS.
