About this concert
Snuff Lane loudly brings you:\nKarma To Burn [USA] // Desert Storm // Sergeant Thunderhoof\nWednesday 20th June\nExchange, Bristol\nDoors: 19:00\nTickets: £12.00 Adv. // £14.00 OTD\nEntry Requirements: 14+ (Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult)\nAmerican stoner-rock trio KARMA TO BURN return to Bristol with their riff-driven, heavily grooving instrumental anthems.\nThey'll be accompanied by Oxford-based riff hounds DESERT STORM; alongside local desert-psych riffers THE ROLLBARS and psychedelic-doom rockers SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF.\n---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nKarma To Burn\nwww.k2burn.net\nIn 1995 ‘KARMA TO BURN’ put instrumental rock music on the map. Hailing from the Appalachian mountains, swigging on hip flasks full of cheap whiskey and 20/20 vodka, ‘KARMA TO BURN’ started their journey with only a backpack full of riffs and a bad attitude for authority. \nAfter signing to Roadrunner Records in 1997, ‘KARMA TO BURN’ released their first album (self-titled). Roadrunner insisted that the album include vocals in order to market the release to a wider audience. The group ultimately gave in and found a vocalist, but the members knew this was a temporary fix. The music they were writing did not need vocals; it spoke for itself. After the album was released, the vocalist was ditched, leaving the band free to pursue their original purely-instrumental vision. This vision paved the way for two seminal and critically acclaimed masterpieces ‘WILD WONDERFUL PURGATORY’ (1999) & ‘ALMOST HEATHEN’ (2001). Each of these records, now regarded as classics, brought the group a steady stream of success and attention. \n---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nDesert Storm\nwww.desertstormband.com\nOxford-based riff hounds Desert Storm have been making a name for themselves since they formed in 2007. From the beginning the band have worked hard...with 4 studio albums and relentless touring of the UK & Europe with the likes of Karma To Burn, Nashville Pussy, Peter Pan Speedrock, Honky and Hang The Bastard as well as support slots to the likes of Orange Goblin, Red Fang, American Head Charge, Weedeater, Crowbar, Mondo Generator, The Atomic Bitchwax and festival appearances at Bloodstock Festival, Hammerfest, Hard Rock Hell, Giants of Rock, The Bulldog Bash, Desertfest (UK/DE) & Roadkill Festival.\nMarch 16th 2018 marked the worldwide release date for their latest offering 'Sentinels' (APF Records).\n---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\nSergeant Thunderhoof\nhttps://sergeantthunderhoof.bandcamp.com\nPrime cuts of riffs served with a side of tasty psychedelic mushrooms, garnished with a sprinkle of doom croutons. \n"a psychedelic riff laden monster that blends Doom, Stoner Rock Hard Rock and Groove Rock. This album is dripping with class. If you want some new riff kings to follow or worship then Sergeant Thunderhoof is the band for you. Brilliant and highly recommended" - SludgeLord \n"I could be lazy and throw out names like Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Monster Magnet and so on to try help get across the sound of this band and whilst that would be on the money, The Hoof are so much more than stoner/doom rock. They blend a wonderful space-y vibe into tracks that surprise and delight. This is an unbelievably excellent debut release. One that you will never tire of." - Echoes and Dust \n"bombastic stoner-doom, atmospheric post-sludge and post-prog. Quality work" - R.A.I.G. \n"commands attention from beginning to end. Zigurat effectively demonstrates the bands diverse influences borrowing as much from thrash, post-metal and space rock as they do from traditional doom and desert rock. Even greater things are bound to follow" - Hevisike\n---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Desert Storm Biography

Oxford based riff hounds Desert Storm have been making a name for themselves since they formed in 2007. From the beginning the band have worked hard...with 3 albums and a demo and relentless touring of the UK & Europe with the likes of Karma To Burn, Nashville Pussy, Peter Pan Speedrock, Honky (ft members of Down/Melvins/Butthole Surfers) as well as support slots to the likes of Orange Goblin, Red Fang, American Head Charge and festival appearances at The Bulldog Bash, The Desertfest, Brisfest & Roadkill (BEL).

January 26th is the worldwide release date for the new record 'Omniscient' (Blindsight records- distro by Code 7 via PHD) which features 10 brand new tracks full of colossal riffs and pure rock fury, but with some moments of folk and psychedelia. You can read some press below for 'Omniscient' (more to follow) Horizontal life and the debut album 'Forked Tongues'.
