The Skeleton Keys Biography
"The Skeleton Keys have hit the sweet spot, the perfect mix between innovation and entertainment..." -Belwood Music
Conjuring up the musical equivalent of a classic adventure movie, The Skeleton Keys are equal parts emotional journey of self-discovery and unpredictable thrill ride, all wrapped up in a likable alt-rock sound that never loses its sense of wonder. Taking the nostalgic charm of retro crooned rock and injecting it with the kinetic energy of progressive rock and the accessibility of modern alternative, they craft songs that are ambitious in scope, yet emotive at heart.
The band's journey started in 2013 when vocalist and bassist Scott Christianson returned from college with some newfound musical ideas, recruiting longtime friends Nathan Crawford and Kevin Abihai to help turn them into reality. Now a 5-piece in 2016, they have finally released their debut EP Danger Island, opened for personal heroes Project 86 on the hard rock band's 20th anniversary tour, and even opened for Snoop Dogg himself at a pool party.
