Maxwell Avenue

Maxwell Avenue is a Pop Rock band which formed in Derby when lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Woodward (19) started scouting for musicians online through joinmyband.co.uk. After finding bassist Jake ‘McCarthy’ Mansbridge (25) and drummer Sam Warrington (18) online we formed Maxwell Avenue with the most recent addition of guitarist and vocalist Tom Wilkinson. Ben Woodward and Tom Wilkinson (20) had been friends for many years prior to forming the band, they were both part of a number of musical projects in Tamworth over the years. Maxwell Avenue has been together since the 25th February 2017 and will celebrate their one year anniversary with the release of their up coming album ‘Oh Violet’ which will be released in 2 volumes. Jake ‘McCarthy’ Mansbridge who lives in Burton Upon Trent studied at the University of Derby but graduated a number of years before Ben enrolled at the University to study BA (Hons) Popular Music with Music Technology, Jake was the first member of Maxwell Avenue to respond to Ben’s advert on Joinmyband.co.uk. With the later addition of drummer Sam Warrington who lives and studies in Nottingham, studying Music at the Nottingham Trent University.

Maxwell Avenue will be performing live at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on the 24th February as part of the biggest unsigned artist competition in the UK. The SoundWaves Music Competition is a National Competition which searches for some of the UK’s biggest and brightest unsigned artists, to give them a once in a life time opportunity to go on tour with an establishing artist in the music industry around the uk, performing around the UK at O2 Academy venues. The final will be held in the evening of the 24th February, Maxwell Avenue will be competing against 14 of the West Midlands best talents in a bid to win the Regional final to gain their slot into the national final which will be decided by a vote from the general public.

Maxwell Avenues upcoming album ‘Oh Violet! Volume 1’ will be released on the 8th March 2018 featuring the first half of the new songs written by Maxwell Avenue. ‘Oh Violet! Volume 2’ will be released later in the year...
