Laura Pausini (Italian pronunciation: [pauziːni]) (born May 16, 1974 in Faenza) is an Italian pop singer and Grammy Award winner.In 1993, Pausini was first known to a wider audience, as she won the Sanremo Festival in the category of young talent with the song La Solitudine. A year later, she joined the stars and was third. Mostly she sings in Italian, as well as English, Spanish and Portuguese. Among others, she collaborated with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Ray Charles, Phil Collins, Kylie Minogue, James Blunt, Hélène Segara, Raf, Nek, Juanes and Gianna Nannini.Pausini has sold more than 70 million records to date. In addition to many Gold Album and 16 Platinum Album Awards, she received a Diamond Album Award. In addition, she has received several music awards of international importance, including a World Music Award each in 1994 and 2003. After winning in 2005 with their Spanish-language 2004 album Escucha a Latin Grammy in the category Best Female Pop Vocal Album, she was also in 2006 with the annual awarded Grammy in the Best Latin Pop Album category. This made her the first female Italian citizen ever to receive a Grammy, which earned her the written congratulations of Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.Pausini in Viareggio (2007)In 2007 she performed at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan in front of more than 70,000 fans. At the end of 2013, on the occasion of their twenty-year stage anniversary, the greatest hit album 20 - The Greatest Hits was released. The first single is Limpido, which she recorded with Kylie Minogue.In 2014, Pausini was a juror in the fourth season of the Mexican edition of The Voice represented; a year later in the third season at their Spanish edition.Pausini is in a relationship with the Italian musician Paolo Carta, with whom she has daughter Paola (born 8 February 2013).

Laura Pausini Biography

Laura Pausini (born May 16, 1974, Solarolo, province of Ravenna) is an Italian pop singer who is popular in Italy and other Latin countries, famed for her soulful voice, her romantic ballads and love songs, though she has also dealt with other subjects such as poverty, war, and racism, among other social issues. She has made records in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, and recently a duet in French.

Laura was born in Faenza (province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, in Northern Italy), and was raised in Solarolo (Ravenna). She started to sing in local piano bars with her father when she was 8. In 1993, her career was launched when she won the prestigious Italian Sanremo Music Festival with one of her best known songs, "La Solitudine". The song also has an English version with lyrics written by Broadway composer Tim Rice.

In 1994, she released her first Spanish album, Laura Pausini, a compilation of adapted versions in this language from her first two Italian CDs, Laura Pausini and Laura. The album was very successful that made her a household name in the Hispanic and Latin world.

In 1999 she recorded a song titled "One More Time" written by Richard Marx for the sountrack of the hollywood movie "Message in a Bottle" (with Kevin Costner and Paul Newman). In 2000 she participated with the theme "The Extra Mile" for the soundtrack of the movie "Pokemon 2000: The Power of One".

She released her first full album in English, From the Inside with Atlantic Records in 2002, working with producer Patrick Leonard, among others.

Pausini has sold over 26 million records and has over 160 Platinum Albums and one Diamond Album.
