Laura Pausini (Italian pronunciation: [pauziːni]) (born May 16, 1974 in Faenza) is an Italian pop singer and Grammy Award winner.In 1993, Pausini was first known to a wider audience, as she won the Sanremo Festival in the category of young talent with the song La Solitudine. A year later, she joined the stars and was third. Mostly she sings in Italian, as well as English, Spanish and Portuguese. Among others, she collaborated with Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Ray Charles, Phil Collins, Kylie Minogue, James Blunt, Hélène Segara, Raf, Nek, Juanes and Gianna Nannini.Pausini has sold more than 70 million records to date. In addition to many Gold Album and 16 Platinum Album Awards, she received a Diamond Album Award. In addition, she has received several music awards of international importance, including a World Music Award each in 1994 and 2003.
