Deux univers à voir et à entendre pour une fascination commune, celle du vampire, mythe poético fantastique qu’ils magnifient à leur manière.Joann Sfar et Dionysos, comme les doigts de la main. Le dessinateur et la bande de Mathias Malzieu entretiennent une rare complicité depuis déjà plusieurs années. Au point que leurs univers poético fantastiques respectifs semblent indissociables. Pochettes de disque, clips vidéo, films d’animation : ces deux mondes n’en font qu’un. Un univers dans lequel on croise fréquemment la figure du vampire, personnage pour ne pas dire mythe, qui passionne Joann Sfar et Dionysos. Un individu d’ailleurs au centre de Vampire en pyjama, dernier album du groupe de Mathias Malzieu. Atteint d'une aplasie médullaire en 2013, ce dernier a dû subir une transfusion sanguine hebdomadaire. Lors de son hospitalisation, il a rédigé un journal intime qui nourrit le disque.

Dionysos Biography
Dionysos is a French rock band formed in 1993 in Valence, Drôme. The band consists of five members known as Élisabeth Maistre aka Babet, Guillaume Garidel aka Guillermo, Mathias Malzieu, Michaël Ponton aka Miky Biky and Éric Serra Tosio aka Rico. Mathias is the main songwriter and fronts the band. Their latest studio album is Monsters in Love. Their first release, Happening Songs, was entirely in English, Babet wasn't part of the band yet. In 1999 they released Haïku which brought the band in to the public eye, mainly thanks to the success of the single Coccinelle.
The name is based on the name of the ancient Greek god, Dionysus (Dionysos in French).
Almost all Dionysos songs evoke a surreal world, in part due to the influence of Tim Burton and Roald Dahl on the group. The song La Métamorphose de Mister Chat tells the story of a ladys' man transformed into a cat, and the story of the group's biggest hit (Song for Jedi) is encapsulated in the English chorus, "When I was a child, I was a Jedi".
Babet is currently working at the same time on her own solo album (released on March 5, 2007), and career. And the lead singer, Mathias Malzieu, is also working on other projects such as the career of Olivia Ruiz (his partner), and his other hobby : writing (published 2 books in 2002 and 2005). His second book is based on the same world as the album Monsters in Love. The sixth member of the group, Stéphan Bertholio, was their backliner before playing with them during live tour, and working on the 5th album Monsters in Love
The group is currently working on a 6th studio album, which should be released 5th November 2007, a soundtrack for the new book of Mathias La mécanique du coeur (to be released 24th October 2007).
