Veshone Biography

Growing up in Toronto, Canada with little to no constant fatherly influences, to set a young boy on the proper path of life, Veshone set his mind to achieve what society imposed on him as success. He strived and gained what “every guy” wanted: admiration from the girls, respect from his peers, and growing popularity within his city as an upcoming rapper in the making.
Though life seemingly looked great, Veshone would soon be convicted by God and
find out that he was created for a greater purpose than self gratification.

This is his story. This is his testimony.

Veshone, formally known as V-boi Famez, grew up in a single parent home along with his older brother and baby sister.
Starting from the very tender age of 3, Veshone had demonstrated his natural talent for singing and dancing. By entering various competitions, and performing in various talent shows throughout the city, he was rewarded several awards, acclaim and scholarships for his achievements, it was quite apparent that he was becoming a young talent to be reckoned with.

As previously stated,Veshone has always been a natural performer, whom thoroughly enjoyed entertaining live audiences. At age 10, before he had even written his first rap song, he had already decided that he would be an actor, dancer, and rapper. Being very ambitious,
Veshone did what ever he could to become this “triple threat” super star and bragged that he would accomplish all of this by the age of 13. More than anything, Veshone wanted to be famous. His enthusiasm was so contagious that he soon got one of his friends, a more seasoned rapper,to believe in his dreams. And just like that, V-boi Famez (Veshone) and his rap partner, Raydar the Tragedy, came together and became the rap duo known an as Famous Tragedy. They recorded their first song “The City is Mine”and placed it on YouTube. Veshone remembers feeling ecstatic because in the first night the song had more than 300 views and smiles to his self as he remembers hearing an apposing team member during a basketball game singing one of their songs. The Rap duo continued to put out more songs such as “T-Dots Finest” and “Ask about Em”.
Now that his rapping career had started, Veshone was hungry for more, he and another friend came together and created the dance duo called Rock Affect. They would become known as the best dancers in their school and exhibit their talent throughout the city.
The school Veshone was attending at the time observed his skills and he was the only student to be awarded a scholarship to attend an renowned prestigious acting program. Once there, his talent shone to the point that the acting professor entrusted him with roles where he would have to recite in foreign languages.
Veshone was quite dedicated to all three art forms. When he wasn’t at home writing and producing new music, or improving on his acting skills, he was at the dance studio, perfecting his craft.

Veshone had done at 14 yrs of age what he said he would do at 13, he had begun to develop the skills to be a triple threat, he was on his way to becoming famous. By his first year of High school, Veshone had what many would call “mini stardom” but to a kid, he felt amazing, kinda like Michael Jackson in the making. He thought that he was on his way to success, but there was an unexpected change coming that would alter his course of life in ways unimaginable.

In 2009 the very same year that Veshone started high school,Veshone's mother became a born again Christian whom gave her life to the Lord and started going back to
church. Veshone at the time, did not feel positively affected by his mother getting saved but felt rather annoyed at the changes her new lifestyle brought on and really could not grasp an understanding to
what was going on. Veshone would constantly complain about having to go to church and told his mother that it was so boring, they always sung the same choruses, it interfered with his Sunday dance studio classes and worst of all, Veshone didn’t feel special at church. He actually felt like no one liked him. He was so used to being fawned over that he felt at odds when these “church” people were treating him like everyone else. In his eyes, to be treated normal, was the same thing as being treated bad. He had this same constant battle with his mom, pretty much every week, but his mother wouldn’t let up until one Sunday. Veshone remembers this day like it was yesterday. It was the day his birthday landed on a Sunday. He never wanted to go to church in the first place and definitely didn’t want to go on his birthday. He started to argue with his mom and gave excuse after excuse why he didn’t want to go. Finally his mom got so fed up that she stormed out and went to church without him. And then a curious thing happened. Instead of Veshone feeling victory he felt a sense of loss, a bit empty. Something deep in him told him that he should have gone. Veshone then switched on the TV to watch B.E.T and got his first taste of Christian Rap. He was mesmerized by Lecrae's “I'm praying for you”. Looking back now, Veshone realizes that this may have been his first taste of God convicting him.

Not to long after that Veshone would attended a week long session at a Christian based summer camp. This was where he first inquired about God on a one on one level. Where he got to see other kids his age earnestly worshipping and loving God. This is where his whole perspective on worship and who God was to him changed, grew and became personal. Veshone would attend this camp
yearly and every time he would go and return home, his older brother would say "Veshone's at his holiest when he comes back home from camp". What was actually happening was Veshone's zeal and ambition to know God had taken life, but he needed more. These one week summer sessions were not enough, he yearned for a way to be rooted in the word .He found it in the most obvious place he avoided. He found it in church.

Veshone started to go to church without being forced, started to pay attention to the pastors sermons, started to pray with his whole heart, started to give God all the praises and before he knew it, Veshone found himself answering his bishops alter call, and on January 1 2010, exactly 1 year to the day that his mother, got Saved, Veshone gave his life to the Lord. God, now being the head of Veshone's life, took away his lust for women, his love for secular music, his yearning for fame, along with all his self gratifying desires he so desperately sought since he was 10 years old. Veshone gave up everything to pursue his relationship with God. By the end of 2010, Veshone was a completely different person. Everyone was amazed at what God has done. Members of his church lovingly but jokingly nick named him "Jesus cousin".
In 2011, Veshone had the unforeseen opportunity to minister to others through gospel rap. He had not planned on picking back up this art form since rap is not commonly acquainted with Christianity. Veshone prayed on it and asked God what should he do and God answered by supplying the lyrics to his first recorded gospel song “Light Up”. Thereafter, Veshone found that when he would try to write songs without going to God first, even if they are in the name of Christianity, no lyrics would come. It was only when he tapped in to the source did the lyrics almost effortlessly come forth. He realized that he is the mouth piece for God and not the other way around.

Currently Veshone is a devoted man of God and though he does have his struggles, finds that God, through Christ Jesus, is always the answer. The amazing blessings that he has had since he has been on this walk is too much to be listed, however they are noted in his songs.

Veshone now chooses to use all his God given talents( rapping, dancing and acting) to glorify Jesus the Christ in every way possible.
