Renée Lamoureux Biography

With the release of her 2019 album ‘EMPOWER’ ready to be launched this spring, award-winning artist Renée Lamoureux is eager to share her brand new material to the world. With her pop-country sound and a genre she likes to describe as music that motivates, Renée possesses a voice ranging from soulfully powerful to sweet and gentle- related to the likes of Serena Ryder and Melissa Etheridge.

Born and raised in Ile Des Chênes, MB, a small French town south of Winnipeg, Renée began to explore music taking piano lessons at six years old but it wasn’t until her parents bought her a microphone the following year that she discovered her love of singing. One day in 5th grade, her teacher assigned the class to write and record a song, performing it to their parents. That day Renée found her love of writing.

As a performing artist and a singer/songwriter, Renée has been privileged to travel across the world doing what she loves- sharing her music. Formally known as one half member of Canadian duo Keith and Renee- together the band released six albums, touring across North America over a decade- highlights including touring with major artists such as Jann Arden, Dean Brody, Dallas Smith. From 2008- 2010, Renée was fortunate to contribute her philanthropy work with WE Charity (Free The Children), performing WE Day and in countless schools across Canada- traveling to countries in Africa and Dubai. Her songs have been placed on AT&T commercials in the USA, Degrassi The Next Generation and Degrassi Goes Hollywood.

Renée’s previous solo album ‘Dare to be You’ garnered her the winning award for Best Female Artist in 2016 at the Manitoba Music Awards, as well as several nominations. The album was up for two Indigenous Music Awards two consecutive years in a row. Her single ‘Two Step’ hit at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.

Renée has always been grateful to be able to continue making music after all these years. As she is about to launch her 9th album this spring, Renée’s excited to take the stage once again and connect to her audience, tell her stories and share her journey.
