Their colorful blend of indie rock mixed with shimmering tones and chorus-soaked bass lines paint a picture of serene and blissful summer nights. Something we could use more of around here. Comprised of Marco looping riffs on guitar/bass and Chuy keeping it steady on the kit, this pair carry an internationally friendly glow to them and we can’t wait to have a little rub off on us while they play their Bottle debut. Shimmering synth-rock duo RONIN descend upon us from Mexico. Now based in Chicago, the pair find themselves exhibiting a cold and glistened layer to their synth-pop. With sweeping melodies like lullabies but with the grit of raw romance, RONIN opens the doorway to your heart with your hand in theirs.THE PONDERERS, Stephanie Manriquez and Sandra Treviño, both Chicago music enthusiasts and journalists, took the challenge of providing an all-day music set, composed solely of female-fronted artists, for a one-day community festival whose focus was women empowerment. Since then, the DJ pair haven’t stopped at their mission and are joining us tonight to spin before, during and after the show.
