The Smoke Parade Biography

Hailing from the cityscapes of Cincinnati, Rock & Soul Indie Recording Artist/Multi-Instrumentalist Taylor Shannon has been hitting the ground running since his career in music began in 2006, and has garnered an insatiable fan base, a recognized name among the scene, and a drive that pushes his career forward. Since gracing the stage, Shannon has played shows with national names such Candlebox, Travis Meadows, Whitey Morgan, Reckless Kelley, and many others. He also currently holds a Cincinnati Entertainment Award (CEA) for 2016, and nominated twice in 2017. Taylor has had positive reception and critical claim throughout the industry. “With a great discography over the years, his debut record "Old Soul" released in 2014, and was followed up by 2015's "Home & Tennessee". In 2016, Shannon released what is thought to be the last of his solo work for the foreseeable future. "The Greenbriar Road" EP, which currently has his hit single "Emily" making its way around the Radio & Podcast circuit and was nominated for "Best Music Video" for the 2017 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. In late October 2017 Shannon put his solo carrer on indefinite hiatus shifting his focus to a brand new band dubbed "Smoke Parade". In January of 2018 a brand new EP 'Another Sad Story' was released defining a fresh new sound, "Another Sad Story’s hard-driving opening track “Suburban Lament” sets the scene nicely, mixing Classic Rock melodies and a few Country/Heartland Rock platitudes (“This old truck…”) with punchy guitar that moves between punkish face-slaps, AltRock octave climbs, big held chords and — I shit you not — rhythmic, trickling plucking akin to early Blink-182 or No Doubt riffs. The band gears down on the twinkling, slow-simmering “Passing Through,” which features some rich multi-part vocal harmonies, before throttling up again on EP highlight “Gone,” with guitar work that would make Jack White smirk approvingly and hooks so instantly memorable you could label it Power Pop (if, you know, you’re into labels)." -Mike Breen, CityBeat Along with extensive touring plans, Smoke Parade have a very busy 2018 as the year progresses. In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open for tour dates, new song releases, and be sure to check out their YouTube channel, and keep up with the Experimental - Punk Rockers via Social Media and beyond. All of your wildest dreams all wrapped up in one giant sonic pony ride.
