About this concert
Freddy Velas & The SilvertonesItalian Doo Wop Groupinspired by the Italian / American Doo Wop tradition of the 1950’s and early 1960’s\n“Freddy Velas & The Silvertones ” … very unique Doo Wop Group than rare of its kind … in fact the songs they play are inspired by the Italian/American “Doo Wop” tradition, colored by the Velasquéz bros polyphonic choirs … The project was born in London (UK) November 1996; training with a trio (Fabrizio Velasquéz – guitar, Blasco Mirabella – doublebass and Stefano Velasquéz – drums)… after having participated on Hemsby ’97 Talent Show, with the song defined a symbol of Italy in the world …with their Doo Wop version of “Volare” (Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu – by Domenico Modugno), here they ranked the second! They continued ” Gigs ” even in Kensington Palace, during a Xmas Party on December 20th 1997 … Later on…their main desire was to bring the Doo Wop sound all over the world!Once back in Italy, they became the “Little Tony” backing band with “Enrico Ciacci” lead guitaristfollowing a tour for about 9 months, traveling around Italy and the rest of Europe…
