About this concert
Front person of Melbourne based band Georgia State Line; Georgia Delves, alongside songwriters Patrick Wilson and William Alexander are teaming up for a short run of tour dates across March. There’s a tender, unmistakable charm that lingers in the work of natural-born storyteller, Patrick Wilson. Rich in craftsmanship, Wilson’s trademark sound and approach to songwriting are gifts only strengthened by the life he breathes into performance. Paired alongside Georgia State Line’s unique brand of country-infused melancholy yields music that’s equal parts heartsick and hopeful. Delves’ voice is effortlessly colourful, lyrical and textural with a depth and grace to rival even the most revered of talents. Together the pair have performed Out On The Weekend (Wagons, Margo Price), supported Eilen Jewell (USA) and country legends The Bellamy Brothers (USA). Whilst crooning troubadour and old time folk singer, William Alexander (the kid from Bourke), brings back the songs of hillbilly and country musics greatest figures as well as his own songs of the new world and all its trials and tragedies. Georgia State Line Biography

Honest, agile, and refreshingly self-assured, Georgia State Line’s unique brand of country-infused melancholy yields music that’s equal parts heartsick and hopeful.

Fronted by lauded songwriter Georgia Delves, the Melbourne, Australia-based band melds both vintage and contemporary sounds to craft songs steeped in Tennessee sunsets and the scent of softened leather. Delves’ voice is effortlessly colourful, lyrical and textural with a depth and grace to rival even the most revered of talents.

Georgia State Line has appeared at the National Folk Festival (Canberra, AUS), Dashville Skyline Festival (Belford, AUS), toured alongside acclaimed country-blues artist Eilen Jewell (USA), and in October 2018 will join the bill at Out on the Weekend (Williamstown, AUS).

2017’s Heaven Knows EP, produced and engineered by AJ Bradford, earned Georgia State Line the title of “one of Australia’s best up-and-coming country acts” (Art News Portal). Drawing comparisons with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, title track Heaven Knows captures Delves’ empathic rumination on the bittersweet balancing act of growing up and staying young. It highlights her songwriting finesse in a way that puts to rest any assumption that this twenty-something wordsmith is yet to reach the milestones necessary to write songs so complex and meaningful. As previous single Older Than I Am suggests, Delves is most certainly wise beyond her years.
