Jason Erie Biography
Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Jason Erie has spent over ten years fronting multiple bands with numerous stints on the road. After five years fronting NY-based rock band Waking Up East, Jason decided to take a break from music altogether. In 2016, after a four-year hiatus, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, newborn son, and his well-worn notebook, brimming with new material ready to be heard.
Northern Americana at its core, with explosions of unhinged emotion, Jason Erie’s sound paints a grimly beautiful picture of suburbanite America in decay. Reminiscent of early Springsteen, his music shines a redemptive light on the shadowed characters living in every corner of the country. With songs composed in a marriage of structure and chaos, Jason Erie mashes Americana storytelling with the punk-rock edge he grew up on. What results is his truly unique style.
