WE ARE MONROE Biography
Montreal’s We Are Monroe has a mantra of “making music for closet dancers,” and it is a fitting one for a group of musicians who have molded an infectious sound that combines rock, punk, new wave, electro and all raw energy. The band has garnered a cult following performing internationally in sold-out venues and renowned festivals (Ottawa Folk Fest, the FEQ, La Fête de la Musique (Europe), Le Festivent, Osheaga) while sharing the stage with some of the best acts around (Kodaline, Foster the People, Smash Mouth, American Authors, The Sherlocks, The beaches, The Dears, Plants and Animals, The Damn Truth).
With 2 releases under their belt (Funeral (2015) and White Lights (2017)), the band made the most of the last year to experiment and work with ace producers Gus Van Go (Arkells, The Stills, Les Cowboys Fringants) as well as Jesse Mac Cormack (Sam Tucker, Caravane, Rosie Valland) and will be dropping new single “Baby Love” at the end of April, followed by the launch of its new EP, “Movement”, via a live streamed performance on May 28th
