Mark Lanegan Biography

Singer/songwriter Mark Lanegan was born in Ellensburg, Washington on November 25, 1964. He has a broad musical history, ranging from grunge to rock & roll. His own musical style, quite distinct from modern acts, can best be compared to the likes of Tom Waits and Johnny Cash.

Best known for his years spent as the lead singer for The Screaming Trees, Lanegan also collaborated with "stoner rock" group Queens of the Stone Age on several of their albums and Soulsavers on their record "It's Not How Far You Fall, It's How You Land." His latest projects include a collaboration with the honey-voiced Isobel Campbell, as well as a long anticipated collaboration with Greg Dulli called Gutter Twins.
