Four-time Grammy® Award winner Lyle Lovett, returns to the DPAC stage on August 15, 2018 with His Large Band. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music's most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades, besides the four Grammy Awards, he was given the Americana Music Association's inaugural Trailblazer Award and was named Texas State Musician. A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. Lovett's live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend's deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music.

He and Chris were fantastic. It was funny that they opened the show with a coin toss to see who it open. Very clever stunned. They were both intelligent and funny individuals as well as talented performers. Someone needs to tell the grand old Opry lighting person that some of their lighting was pointing directly at peoples faces so there were large portions of the song where you had to like hide your face in your lap to avoid getting cataracts. Maybe point those suckers up a little bit, flame other people in the balcony..,

Lyle Lovett Biography
Lyle Lovett is an americana singer-songwriter and actor from Klein, Texas, who has been described as "the thinking man's cowboy". While typically associated with the alt-country genre, his albums typically incorporate folk, swing, blues, jazz and gospel music as well as more traditional country & western styles.
The four-time Grammy winner has acted in a number of films and been a guest-star on television. Lovett was married to actress Julia Roberts for a short time in the mid-1990s. In 2002, he was trampled by a bull while working on his uncle's farm in Texas, but soon recovered and resumed touring.
